Okay, back after trying out the various possibilities. I'm afraid the possibilities using the tables lead to nowhere and didn't work at all (I set everything exactly as in the screenshots).

The Groove column solution seemed to be easiest, and worked a treat too Wink .

Thanks everyone.

I tested the table ones and both possibilities worked. Maybe you forgot something there? (Speed, one shot, stopping the tables etc...)
Running one of the later versions?

I'll have another go later. But I wrote out 'exactly' (like a mirror*) what's on the picture, so I'm not sure what I could have left out - but I will try again.

* = Whoops, on the first version I didn't set it to once ... could that be it?

Okay, tested again and saw where the fault was - I'd forgotten to change the CV to CV2 in FX column (I was on track 2).

So, in the final analysis I think that XORadmin's option N°1 is actually the most precise, however, it's a little fiddly Wink . If  you could cut and paste your notes over from the main screen (on whatever track you're using) and put them in the FX column of the table, that would help - make it more user friendly.

However, I guess all that might be difficult to implement, but it does bring up again the point that there must be another solution for programming triplets, or others multiples. Going backwards and forwards between screens is a little dizzy making, especially when you need to constantly check the melody, or tweak something.

Thanks again.

Thats just what it is. A step sequencer. Having it all visible in the pattern screen is not possible (maybe using the different grooves).
See it from the positive side, it is not possible at all with most other sequencers. ;-)

Just to add some variety (there's more than one way to do it Wink ):
I often use the following pattern:
Let's say I have a song with 120 BPM I then set BPM to 60 and in every pattern I add in the first row CBPB 10A (double clock immediately). When I want triplets I use CBPB 10B (triple clock immediately) for those notes. The same works for 5-tuplets and 7-tuplets and it works with CV16 and MIDI tracks. Drawback is I have to be aware that the length of my patterns change and special care has to be taken into account to keep everything aligned.

Possibly not the perfect solution for every situation but clearly helpful sometimes.

I use a similar approach if I want special ornamentation (trills and such) where I don't have tables (aka CV16 and MIDI tracks).

Kind regards,
Michael
