Also attempted setting I2C B Mode to NS -> 16N 1-16 with F8R in follower mode and still I2C LRN nor I2C SCCV #0-127 do not detect slider movements from F8R.

Then there is the question if the fr8 works. If it is set up correctly. Maybe a pullup resistor thing.

The F8R works fine in leader mode with pull-up resistors in their current position. Is it possible that the pull up resistor would need to be changed when working in follower mode, but not leader mode?

I don’t think that would make a difference. If it works with one then it should work at least technically with the other mode.
Then I guess it is a settings thing in the FR8.

Same issue occurs with CVM-8, which is in both leader/follower modes always. With only CVM-8 connected via I2C, I2C B Mode set to 'NS -> 16N 1-16', address Hex35 Dec53 (which matches what is set in CVM-8 configurator).
CVM-8 Leader...
Interestingly, CVM-8 works fine in leader mode with the following set:
I2C B Mode: 16N -> NS 1-16
I2C B Address: Hex: 31 Dec: 49
CVM-8 Follower...
But changing to the following in NerdSeq presents 'Message: I2C Error' in the CVM-8 configurator:
I2C B Mode: NS -> 16N 1-16
I2C B Address: Hex: 35 Dec: 53
Saving the project with the above for 'CVM-8 Follower', then restarting NerdSeq with Autoload Project set to 'On' immediately shows repeated 'I2C Error' in CVM-8 configurator.
So, whatever is causing 'I2C Error' to present in CVM-8 config I think is impacting both F8R and CVM-8, attempting to use them in follower mode.
Changing back to 'CVM-8 Leader' above, saving the project, then rebooting NerdSeq causes the I2C error to cease in CVM-8 configurator and the CVM-8 then works fine again (in leader mode).
Also, I'm in a state now where only newly created NerdSeq projects will respond to I2C LRN, but existing projects with the same I2C Settings will not respond to I2C LRN?

A FR8 in leader mode need to be turned on after or with the NerdSEQ. If the NerdSEQ is not setup right when the FR8 tries to connect then a FR8 (which I still assume being a 16n clone) then it will not work anymore until the FR8 reboots.
As for the follower mode, 34 is the main base address that is used in a NS->16n configuration. But that is not an answer for a possible I2C error on the CVM8.
What do the FR8 and CVM8 forums/manuals say about follower modes?

Yes, I have F8R, CVM-8, and NerdSeq all in the same case. They are all being turned on together.
What could cause I2C LRN to only work for new NerdSeq projects, but not existing projects? I'm getting accurate lights appearing on Multi-IO.

I2C LRN (and any I2C input) is only working if the basic layer is working. Did you save a project where the F8R is for example working but it doesn't work anymore if you load it after power up?
The I2C settings (of the last used project) are saved on the Multi-IO so it can react directly on any F8R requests on power up (if the F8R is in leader mode).
And so it should be up and running after loading the same project. I do it all the time (again I do that with a 16n which I assume is the same and looking to the F8R part of the MSW website where I couldn't find a manual but it claims to be based on 16n).

I've given up and moved CVM-8 & F8R back to Leader mode, where they are working without issue. Too many days spent on this already, and I'd much rather be making music.
If anyone is able to get F8R and/or CVM-8 working in Follower mode with NerdSeq, I'd love to hear your success story!
