Just to add my input, I’ve had the same issue as described above and find it extremely confusing too. Is there a way to switch off the ‘autogate’ so that we don’t have to try and figure out whether a gate is on or not at the same time as a trigger in the trigger column?

This is already fixed in V1.20. If trigger is filled in, no autogate. Thats the rule from V1.20, no matter of probabilities.
