Stopped Clock and cursor on 'CLOCK OUT-IN 5' = 2.55 Reset= 4.97 Clock out at 001BPM =2.55 RE: Clock Output - XORadmin - 05-28-2019 (05-27-2019, 10:48 PM)userfriendly Wrote:(05-27-2019, 07:39 PM)XORadmin Wrote:(05-27-2019, 07:14 PM)userfriendly Wrote: Hello! I think something is wrong here. I just measured NerdSEQ from 3 different batches and all of them show 4.7 volt, which is around the 5 volt i am expecting. With a connected input the voltage stays the same, so they are no weak outputs as it was mentioned. Indeed, if the clock is running i get an average of 2.5 volt, also as expected. The voltmeter of the O'tool is not too accurate and uses average voltages anyway, so if the clock would be running it would show around 2.5 volt while the top would be around 4.7 volt and the bottom 0 volt. Just another question: Is the LED flashing (or on when stopped in calibration) with normal intensity? Because that one is directly tied to the line and if the voltage would be 2.5 volt, then you could barely see the LED. RE: Clock Output - lohacker - 05-28-2019 Checking my CLOCK OUT-IN 5 value with stopped clock and nothing patched gives me "ERR". Is it an hardware problem then? No thats fine. Because it doesn't measure anything if nothing is connected. Normally you connect the clock output with the clock input and if both are fine the err will be removed. I'm sorry if any of this is incorrect or does not help. I am far far far from any sort of electrical engineer. But I thought it might help! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG_WmgxooGk&feature=youtu.be RE: Clock Output - XORadmin - 05-29-2019 (05-28-2019, 11:33 PM)userfriendly Wrote: Hello! Hey thanks for the video. You do everything exactly correct! Sorry for me digging into it to be sure it is measured correctly. And in fact it seems to me that your clock output is not good. Is it possible to make 1-2 more measurings for me so i can see if there is an issue with the opamp or if there is a wrong resistor placed? Also, please contact me directly through email so we can figure out how i can fix your problem the easiest. The NerdSeq clock output LED looks fine. Here is a picture of how I measure it with O'Tool: https://www.dropbox.com/s/t8r40deea7i1klc/NerdSeq_ClockOut.jpg Track 1 (on top) is direkt clock output from Euclidean Circles - around 5v Track 2 is direkt clock output from NerdSeq - just above 2v But regardless of the measurement, White Gallop is working fine with the first one and with NerdSeq clock output working only after amplifying the clock signal., so it should be a problem with the unit. I will also contact you directly via email. RE: Clock Output - XORadmin - 06-03-2019 Just FYI: It turns out to be a bad OPamp which is responsible for the clock issues. RE: Clock Output - jtomaszb - 08-16-2023 Hi there, I’ve confirmed that my unit also shows a clock output level of 2.5V via an external oscilloscope. I saw that you previously mentioned this is due to a bad op amp. Is this something that I can send in to get replaced? Or if not, could you specify the part number and location so that I can do the replacement myself. Thanks! |
