Poly Chord mode? - mntbighker - 03-13-2021 Anybody have any thoughts on potential for a polyphonic chord mode? Where for example CV 2 -5 go to four voices and track one sequences the chords. As far as I know everything is currently note based. But I also know, for example, that O_C has a poly chord function. It seems like if it can do it, Nerdseq should be able to. Alternately, maybe someone could put together a helpful guide for sequencing O_C with Nerdseq. Totally thinking out loud here again
RE: Poly Chord mode? - XORadmin - 03-13-2021 I think you need to check the manual for what the NerdSEQ is capable of ;-) RE: Poly Chord mode? - mgd - 03-13-2021 (03-13-2021, 07:44 PM)mntbighker Wrote: Anybody have any thoughts on potential for a polyphonic chord mode? I thought that's basically how the FX PCRD functions. See page 27 of the manual. HTH, Michael RE: Poly Chord mode? - mntbighker - 03-13-2021 Sorry folks. I figured with all the videos I've watched, if that was there I'd have seen someone doing it by now. I'm a visual learner. The manual puts me to sleep. RE: Poly Chord mode? - mntbighker - 03-13-2021 Out of curiosity, what happens if PCRD tries to play CV's that have other things going on with them? What overrides what? Clearly it's on the "artist" to avoid that, but just wondering. RE: Poly Chord mode? - XORadmin - 03-13-2021 Still waiting for people to make proper tutorials... ;-) RE: Poly Chord mode? - XORadmin - 03-13-2021 (03-13-2021, 08:10 PM)mntbighker Wrote: Out of curiosity, what happens if PCRD tries to play CV's that have other things going on with them? What overrides what? Clearly it's on the "artist" to avoid that, but just wondering. That depends all on the order. But generally tracks 1->8 are played. If you have a PCRD on the 2nd track, then CV maniulations on later tracks will take over of course. Automators are added in the end. Direct envelopes take over the outputs. And probably some more rules, but these are the most common I think. RE: Poly Chord mode? - mntbighker - 03-13-2021 Anybody care to compare their experience using PCRD direct to voices vs sequencing O_C to poly sequence voices? O_C manual suggests Grids or Pam's so Nerdseq should as good or better for that. Any videos out there? RE: Poly Chord mode? - mgd - 03-13-2021 I haven't tried this with the NerdSEQ yet, but I don't see why that should be any different. The O_C basically gives you 3 CVs (the 4th is a duplicate) and those you can sequence e.g. with a sequential switch. The same is of course possible with the CVs from the NerdSEQ. However the NerdSEQ gives you a lot more options, variations and control over what happens. |
