[NO BUG] CV16 Gate Out & Assimil8or - Kid Yoshi - 09-10-2021 Hey there I'm using the CV16 with an Assimil8or and I have a track from the CV16 set up to send an envelope with zero attack, full sustain and zero release - essentially a gate. This is used to trigger the Assimil8or and it works, however the volume on the Assimil8or is ~50% lower than if I trigger it with the Nerdseq dedicated Trigger output. I'm pretty sure the Assimi8or does not use gate for volume level and interestingly, if I set either Attack to 01 or Release to 01 then the volume jumps up to it's correct level. It's not a deal breaker but I do find it strange. I don't have a scope to visually see what might be going on. My guess is it should be in the 0V/+10V position (i.e. flipped right) HTH, Michael RE: CV16 Gate Out & Assimil8or - mvdirty - 09-11-2021 To add to what Michael suggested checking… You’re right that the A8 trigger/gate input is strictly a trigger/gate input. Can you lay out for us all the involved NerdSEQ output -> A8 input connections, their mappings inside the A8, and the base values set in the A8 for the things being modulated by those mapped inputs? (which can be interesting not least because some of those things map as offsets but some map as scaling. Addition/subtraction vs multiplication, to put it plainly.) RE: CV16 Gate Out & Assimil8or - Kid Yoshi - 09-14-2021 Thanks for the replies to help me trouble shoot this. I think it's because the gate is super short when the envelope is set to 0 Attack and 0 Release and as such the A8 is already on it's envelope decay so the sound never really gets to be full volume. If I extend the Release time then the A8 sees a longer gate and so the sound is louder. In short... user error :-) RE: CV16 Gate Out & Assimil8or - mgd - 09-14-2021 Good to hear that you sorted it out...last not least because the A8 is somewhere on my shopping list
RE: CV16 Gate Out & Assimil8or - mvdirty - 09-16-2021 Nice! Glad to hear that you got it sorted! |
