Probability of FX - YEONO - 01-24-2022
Hi XOR,
I'm new user of Nerdseq.
so now I'm leaning and try some...and got some question.
I made a simple straight 16th steps trigger pattern. and I put Trigger Probability on first step FX1 column.(032 like 50% trigger)
and then I delete the FX1 column. but trigger probability still Active!(50% trigger probability). of course I could reactive FX1 and change the value as normal(064 100%). Is that machine design purpose?
Second is similar symptoms in Table, I made some random Transpose melody with quantize note also with probability trigger(50%) FX in Table window. and then I Stopped table(like **) in pattern window. then random melody stopped. but probability trigger still active like FX1 column in pattern window.
Third, so I checked manual and I found Reset FX Track/ Reset All FX in NERD Menu. But it's not working at all.
Every other order working fine in NERD Menu. like undo, color, TRK Transpose, Track Setup. But Reset FX function not working.
Am I doing wrong something? or misunderstanding with this machine. Please let me know.
By the way, machine is great!! I have seven other Euro Sequencer. seems like bit hard to leaning and become proficient, But this one is Monster! Deep and Great function, Huge potential. Exactly What I need that I'm working on these day.

you may try to set "Reset FX on Seq Stop" to "OFF" in the Setup Screen (SHIFT + PROJECT/SETUP).

Hey,
it is indeed normal that a FX is not reset when you delete it. Just to understand this better, in the sequence the FX function is being set and just imagine you are in a complete different pattern and delete the fx function there, you don't want the current pattern or anything playinf to be changed then.
They are multiple commands which could reset the probability for example. One is to set the probability to 100% again in the FX. Another is to change the probability value manually in the current values screen (patch button) and 3rd with the reset track fx/ reset all fx. This should work, did you press OK when trying to reset it?
You can also automatically let the fx reset on sequencer stop like michael said.

it was "off" state. I try to set "Reset FX on Seq Stop" both on&off state but Reset function still not work.
and I already reinstalled firmware too.(1.25a)

Yes. I press OK. even Shift+OK. but still same situation.
"Reset FX on Seq Stop" was "off" state also. and I Try Reset FX both on&off state of "Reset FX on Seq Stop".
and also reinstalled firmware twice time(1.25a)

I just tested it and it works. You can check this simply:
Look in the current values screen where you can see the current probability setting. When the sequencer played it should go to your 50%, when you stop the sequencer it goes back to 100% (when reset FX on sequencer stop is ON).
When you do the reset track/all fx in the nerd menu it also goes to 100% (of course when your sequence is not running).
There is no benefit in re=installing the firmwares. When the update succeeds then the correct firmware is installed.

Yes I saw a video and i think it is more a thing of understanding how the FX in a sequence do work.
The reset FX functions do not delete the FX value that you set in the sequencer. All sequences in the patterbs stay the same.
So when you set the probability in the sequencer it is just like a note or anything else that plays/changes once the sequencer passes this row.
And here is it like a knob that is being set to 50% everytime your loop plays.
The reset track FX function sets this knob to 100% again, but of course when your sequence plays again it sets back to 50%.
I would say everything works as intended.
