I2C Y-cable anyone? - mgd - 07-09-2024 Hi Nerds, I have two Sweet Sixteen mkII (possibly three) that I'd like put on one of my I2C busses. Where or how do I get a I2C Y-cable to connect them in a chain? Do I have to make them myself (if so, a brief HowTo rundown would be nice), or does anyone know of them ready made? Kind regards, Michael RE: I2C Y-cable anyone? - XORadmin - 07-09-2024 (07-09-2024, 11:53 AM)mgd Wrote: Hi Nerds, I think teletype did something like this at some point. If you use the S16 externally then you can use these cheap stereo splitters. I also always wanted to make simple splitter pcb's but then you definitely would need to take care that these are not floating somehwere in the rack but are covered somehow. However, you need to customize the firmware for each S16 slightly as multiple S16 would run only properly if in follower mode and if each got its own address. The latter one can only be changed by firmware. I implemented it so that the first S16 (1-16) uses it's standard follower address and the others 17-32 etc uses address + 1, +2 etc. |
