[NO BUG] Drum map issues - Renzki - 07-20-2024

Hey Thomas,

Here is an attept to respond to your advice I gathered from Discord direct chat tool.

Quote:Midi is digital and not related to inconsistent voltages.

I agree with you, I understand how it works, at least to that level.

Quote:I don’t really get what you do as now the local CV are involved as well as the launchpad.

Launchpad Pro MK2 > TRS-A in (multi IO) > Nerdseq CV16 track > Dest 1 : N1 TrR16-2 > T2 [TD8] > Erica Sample Drum TR in
                                                                                            > Dest 2/3/4 > EXT CV9/10/111 > Erica Sample Drum CV1 in

Quote:Also I don’t know how you set up everything. What are your settings to get midi in

Described above

Quote:The best would probably be if you send me your project

File sent to you on Discord

Quote:[...]  and explain what you want to do and what goes wrong.

Whats going wrong is when I play notes notes on my midi keyboard the voltage varies sometines to the next closest and make the ESD to play another sample as I have loaded 64 drum samples to it, the CV 1v/oct in controls what sample is plaid on this mapping, lowest voltage first sample, highest voltage last sample. Also, it wont record the trigger in CV16 track as you may already know. Unable to use the TR16 for that as you can't have CVs on it. I can use a modular track however this will limit the outer controls to 2 CVs when 3 are provided on the ESD, and also it has 2 channels so the idea of having 1 track of CV16 with 6 collums was great to control the ESD in full.

Ideally would like to have integrated key mapping on the internal sampler but the way it is now, it only works with sample numbers that cannot be called from an external controller.

Still that video of me showing what's happening seen over shoulder, to be watched closely.

Thanks man

Please share the project file.

Also, Having the triggers first and the CV 2nd is still not correct as I explained a bit more detailed on discord.
Did you use the trigger compensation on the ESD? I just went through it's manual and it has a compensation function which you might need, same as the NerdSEQ has a compensation function for the triggers which was needed in some cases (I remember early Erica sample firmwares needed that).

The video doesn't show much as you most probably still use multiple columns there.

That is my general assumption, the project file might help to find out a configuration issue. I don't expect it to be a bug so far.

RE: Drum map issues - Renzki - 07-21-2024

Hey Thomas, as per my observations the votage irregularities according to midi notes were directly out of the NerdSeq. But look, I'm happy to make a new video with single column record enabled on the track setup menu. Will have a snack and will get onto it.

Yes, it's better for this (user) issue not to be a bug, as bug means troubleshooting scenarios, you don't want that...

The project was sent in PM window just now as when I wrote this, I omitted to press send.

RE: Drum map issues - XORadmin - 07-22-2024

Wrong column order and wrong Record columns setting was selected. Works fine now, no bug.
