Immediate value to XMAP - originaljimdandy - 08-06-2024 Hi there! Sorry to post such a long and complex question, just trying to explain what I am asking. I use a lot of CV+CV16 controls with my setup, and I end up doing this a lot, to set a CV16 port to a given value from a MODULAR track: PATCH XX: CV5 -> YYYY XMAP ZZZ XMAP ZZZ: SRC CV 5 -> CV PTCH M-NN (note: the SKIP command around the XMAP block is not shown. I usually run it right from the top of the mapping screen so XMAP 001 is CV16 port 1 and so on) The CV 5 port is then dedicated to mapping of course. That is not a problem really, plenty of ports Where things get messy is when I want to set up a voice, say on track 1, where I have to use a bunch of patches - filling in the patch column and using PATC FX. In some cases I don't get the expected CV16 outputs and it takes a bit of trial and error to figure out which combinations give me the desired outcome. All I do is rearrange the order/grouping of the PATCH calls. I am not sure if considering the PATCHs as atomic (and executing from top to bottom) is exactly correct. And keeping this straight is not so straightforward. SO, is there a better way to do this? Basically, from a MODULAR pattern, set a value on a given CV16 port? Or, set a VAR from the MODULAR track? Then I could dedicate a VAR to go with each CV16 output and have isolation. (It is quite possible I have missed something in the manual that might help, it wouldn't be the first time) Or is might this be a feature ask? Thanks, -james |
