Can the Multi-IO power a Norns - visti - 11-12-2024

Has anyone used this combo? It seems like a slam dunk if it works like I'm hoping, but I'm not sure!

I assume it can't as the Multi-io provides 500mA max (and that even depends also on your rack power). A raspberry (which is used in a norns) needs quite some power and can't usually be powered by a normal computer USB port (with which you can compare the Host port of the Multi-IO in power specifications).

- from the norns troubleshooting:
  • be sure to use the correct power supply. the pi will not power well from a laptop and you'll get confusing errors. get a dedicated 2A USB supply, or very high output USB battery.
