Is there a way to “queue” recording from midi (over USB) into a modular track? E.g. when I hit the space bar in Ableton the clock starts on the nerd automatically now, but could I queue the record on the nerd so it starts in time with the clock?

Sure. You could use the mappings for that.
Source would be the global sequencer started and the destination would be record mode (don’t know the exact names right now)

Oh! I didn’t even think to use the mappings to add the feature myself, that’s brilliant. I’ll try it and report back!
