Row probability in FX 1 no affecting lfo - m.roach - 03-18-2026 I’ve got the CV expander and I’m sending a slow LFO for 4 steps and then sending a stop command. I have a break command in fx 1 on step 16. Nice and simple and it works. However, when I insert row probability on the lfo row the break command does not consistently work and the lfo stays on then cuts off. I have tried putting the lfo on 01 instead of 00 so the break doesn’t send to the same row but the same thing happens. When I reset with no probability it works as it should. I’m certain I’m missing some fundamental point here … Thanks in advance. RE: Row probability in FX 1 no affecting lfo - XORadmin - 03-18-2026 Lets break this down: - you enable the row probability at a certain row. This probability affects all the columns except for one (more on that in a secons). The row probability stays also in its setting until you disable (100%) it again. (functions like a knob that you turn into a position) - the FX column is also affected by the row probability and so is the break command which is in the fx column Now the good thing is that always the last FX column is excluded from the row probabilities and you could insert the break command there and it will always work. This would also be the place to change the probability settings again if you want to do that from within a sequence. Another thing to consider is to just change the pattern length to 16 instead of using break. This has also the advantage that several functions like jump or the pattern order know how long the pattern is and do their thing within the pattern length. That is not the case for the break command. RE: Row probability in FX 1 no affecting lfo - m.roach - 03-18-2026 Shifting the break to fx 3 has done the trick with that — that’s a handy thing to remember. I understand the principle of the probability staying on. Popping a probability on fx 3 at 64 should be the equivalent of switching it off? Anyway the initial probability now isn’t registering. Row probability to 64 will turn it off indeed. What do you mean by the initial probability? RE: Row probability in FX 1 no affecting lfo - m.roach - 03-19-2026 Of course, sorry for being vague. Row 00 | LFO 14 | FX 1 Row Probability [14] Row 04 | STOP MOD | FX 3 Row Probability [64] Row 16 | FX 3 BreaK 000 The break works fine The LFO is on all of the time — probability does not affect it Sometimes the STOP command works and sometimes it does not RE: Row probability in FX 1 no affecting lfo - XORadmin - 03-19-2026 Are you sure that you don't have any other probability on there? Changing the row probability affects only the row probability but they are still also other probabilities that you probably changed on the way at some point. You can check the probability settings of the track in the 'current values' screen. RE: Row probability in FX 1 no affecting lfo - m.roach - 03-19-2026 I’ve started again and the behaviour is much more as expected. I put the lfo a bit further in the sequence and put a couple of probabilities on fx 3 at 64 and one in the middle of those two on fx 1 at 20 and it seems to be working. Many thanks for your help ? It should be definitely working also having the FX in the same row since the FX are being executed before the 'Note' columns. |
