USB Midi Expander - modbang - 11-05-2019 Would the USB midi expander negate the need for the original midi expander if you are only using USB midi?
RE: USB Midi Expander - XORadmin - 11-05-2019 Maybe. But that doesn't mean that everything would work. This is not a computer and only class compliant gear would work anyway. And also here it is by far not guaranteed that everything works. RE: USB Midi Expander - wintercyan - 07-31-2020 To this end, if the usb midi expander doesnt have a 3.5 mm midi jack on it or something (which would be totally fair, saving space, hp, etc, plus why include that when the midi expander already exists for this) buuuuuut, would it maybe be possible to have a header on the back to connect directly to a case din midi port, such as those on the intellijel performance cases or for diy kinda jobs? I'm not sure how much space the components for buffering and levelling midi signals takes up, if theyd fit on the kind of board you have planned, but it would be pretty handy in smaller setups to get the best of both worlds with as little hp as possible. |
