automator lfo question - ello - 02-27-2020 i came along using the automator and a question raised, if the behaviour i found is normal, seems not to me. when i create a sine wave lfo and route it to mod1 output i thought an offset of 0 would output between -5 ... 5 V. however, the sinewave is clamped between 0 and 5V and the negative part is flattened out. when i put the offset to 2047 it behaves like i think it should behave at 0, creating a sinewave between -5 and 5 V (on the screen the automator preview is going between middle and max, it seems that the preview and the output are off by 5V). i have set my output offset switch to left. what may i misunderstand or do the wrong way? attached some image to describe the thing. left side offset 0, right side offset 2047. from my understanding it should behave at an offset of 0 like it is now at an offset of 2047 RE: automator lfo question - XORadmin - 02-27-2020 (02-27-2020, 10:24 AM)ello Wrote: i came along using the automator and a question raised, if the behaviour i found is normal, seems not to me. All correct. The Automators are added tot the current MOD value ( or other destinations) and is in itself bi-polar. If the MOD value is 0, then of course it is already the lowest possible value and so you see only the positive part of the LFO. Set the MOD value to +5V (either C-5 or 800) and you get the full curve also without the offset. The switch is only a hardware switch which lowers the voltage with 5 volt. RE: automator lfo question - ello - 02-27-2020 omg. all right. so generally if nothing is set in the mod column it is set to 000 (respective -5V) so it is a good idea to set a 800 there in my case, to get the whole range of the automator. cool

Just think of this practical situation: You want to play a melody but want the notes vibrate a bit in pitch. Thats why it adds and is bipolar
