Hi Thomas. I hope that you've been keeping well.
I'm interested in some additional options for step recording voltages. The intention behind these is to be able to record step voltage input in to NerdSeq more efficiently.
I'd like to be able to record voltages in an "overwrite" mode. In this mode, 0v would not be considered to be the absence of a voltage/note. It would be considered a voltage/value of 0v. The voltage needs to be recorded at every step, regardless of the presence of a trigger or gate. Triggers and gates would be treated in a similar manner in overwrite mode. Thie would mean that the absence of a trigger during a recording would clear an existing trigger from the step.
This will facilitate input from sequencers such as the Analogue Solutions Generator+. It would also facilitate recording in situations where mistakes are easily made, as each take will completely overwrite the previous take.
I'd like to be able to rotate all of the steps in a pattern (or all selected steps) forwards or backwards by one step. This is useful because when you use analogue voltage sequencers (or sequencers like Metropolis or M185) you sometimes create a pattern that doesn't actually begin on beat one. It is also useful to modify arrangements.
As it will not be possible to record step voltages directly into the CV16 tracks, I record into a regular modular pattern and then copy that into a CV16 track pattern. This works for notes, but I can't get it to work if I am copying from a Mod column. If I'm working with unquantised voltages and FM, being able to copy Mod columns into CV16 columns will give me a higher resolution and help me to reproduce the sounds that I have designed in the analogue domain. I can manually put the Mod values in to CV16 column, I just can't copy them in from a modular track.
