can individual midi notes be delayed slightly (forward/backward) on the nerdseq?

Not at the moment but a microtiming for midi notes is planned.

would be great if note delay could be bipolar (forward/backward) so midi notes could be delayed backwards a bit without having to put the note on the step before and delaying it almost whole step to get the desired effect.

Backward is not possible. Since the sequencer don't have fixed patterns but flexible playing/jumping between the patterns it is not possible to know which note would play next.
