[DONE]Shift rows - resynthesize - 01-10-2018 I would like the ability to shift all rows in a pattern up or down with a keyboard shortcut. For example, starting with this: 00 C-2 01 --- 02 D-2 03 --- Pressing the shortcut to shift down once would result in this: (all rows shifted down) 00 --- 01 C-2 02 --- 03 D-2 Conversely, pressing the opposite shortcut would shift them back up, so you end up where you started. I don't have a preference as to what happens to rows that get pushed off the stack, maybe they can wrap back around to the other side or just be purged. Shift+Down/Shift+Up seem like logical key combos to me, but I don't really care what they are as long as there is some fast way to do it. This will make editing a lot faster (for me at least!) Thanks! RE: Shift rows - Mat - 01-10-2018 In theory this is possible by inserting empty rows. First copy an empty row, and then insert (shift) as many as you like by using shift + down + copy. RE: Shift rows - XORadmin - 01-10-2018 Yes you can do this already by marking a row (or multiple rows) and press SHIFT+UP+DELETE = Deletes the row and shifts everything below up. Or for insert. (SHIFT+) Mark a empty row or multiple rows. Press SHIFT+Mark again. Now go to the place where you want the row(s) to be inserted. Press SHIFT+DOWN+COPY. It will insert the empty rows then and shifts everything down one or more rows. Latest version needed for this. As they are not enough dedicated buttons i have to take care to add shortcuts by pressing key combinations. I have already something else in mind for SHIFT+UP/DOWN. RE: Shift rows - resynthesize - 01-10-2018 Thanks guys. For shifting down/inserting (per Mat's suggestion, thanks!), you only need to mark a row once, copy, and then press insert as many times as you need. For shifting up/deleting you have to mark an empty block each time before deleting, which is pretty cumbersome. Marking a row before inserting or deleting seems unnecessary anyway, it would be great if the following could happen if there is no mark currently: SHIFT+DOWN+COPY: Shifts all columns in a row down by 1 SHIFT+UP+DELETE: Shifts all columns in a row up by 1 I know this is not my module, I'm just providing some suggestions based on past experience that would make editing a lot easier/faster. Thanks for your consideration. RE: Shift rows - XORadmin - 01-10-2018 SHIFT+DOWN+COPY is already in use to copy a before marked part while shifting down the rest. It works for one or multiple rows (or parts of it). SHIFT+UP+DELETE could be probably used for this, i will think about it. SHIFT+DOWN+DELETE could be used to insert a empty row and shift the rest 1 down. I didn't double check this yet but it seems to be possible unused combinations. I will think about it, it is usefull for sure. ( i know that based on my 20+ years experience with all kind of trackers ;-) ) ......but all step by step, for now you can do all you need and it will only get better Thanks for the suggestion.
RE: Shift rows - Geocities - 01-23-2018 Hello! First post by a very happy owner of nerdseq. I just want to chime in on this and say that this request is something I would find very useful. I was a user of jeskola buzz for many years and I thought this function made it really quick and intuitive when making sequences. Congrats on making an great sequencer, I love mine!
