Hi!

This is only a cosmetic problem:
After updating the VEX from 3.0d to 3.3 the screen with the detected firmware for the NSA was still showing 3.0d. Tried the update twice w/o any changes. When updating Trigger to 1.1 and Dualchord to 1.4 the updated version was shown.

After a power cycle the correct version (3.3) was shown. This happened with 3.3 beta15.

Bugs that I shared on the discord.

1) After pressing abort when selecting sample on pattern screen (load sample screen) .. .the screen defaults to sequencer instead returning to previous pattern screen...It is not very UX friendly when pop up menus are not returning you back to where you were... I noticed this in more situations / screens

2) When pressing SHIFT + cursor UP or SHIFT + cursor RIGHT on empty field in sequencer screen, both shortcuts do the same... creates "last assigned pattern number +1 " .

Would it be possible to do instead:

SHIFT + cursor RIGHT / LEFT on empty pattern - create "last assigned pattern number -1" / "last assigned pattern number +1"

SHIFT + cursor UP on empty pattern - create "last assigned pattern number"

3) SHIFT + OK + cursor UP / DOWN on Pattern screen on trigger column

Shifts up / down triggers while the values are wrapping around

this function "empties" the selected "filled trigger" or creates "off gate" on "empty field" before it starts "shifting / wrapping around" as the shortcut first registering "SHIFT + OK (empty trigger/add gate off) shortcut" before pressing also cursor UP/DWN

maybe shortcut SHIFT + UP + cursor UP/DOWN could be used as this combination is empty???

RESPONSE FROM THOMAS

1: Ok that is possible, I got to check that. It should return to the caller of course

2: That is changed in the latest RC already and it will return to the last used pattern. I will not add any more shortcuts here since they are many users with many years of muscle memory which surely would get frustrated.

3: I got to check that, it should normally do only the shift but my guess is that it interferes now with the other function to insert/change 'preset trigger types' just like with many other columns. Thats consistency at a cost. What would come into my mind is that I can d othe preset thing on OK release instead which would be fine for that function and also only if no euclidean or trigger shift happened.

Basically they are very few shortcuts and I definitely want to keep it that way. But some functions do make sense to be fastly available.

However, when I record MIDI into the Sample tracks, e.g. 7/8 track the notes I play seem to get quantized differently: they usually are recorded/quantized one step late most of the time, so I have to shift them one step back manually.
I did not notice a Playback difference when playing via external MIDI, only when recording when the quantization is happening.

I did not do a proper test yet, I only played in via a MIDI keyboard via the MIDI Host connector, but found the difference quite noticable when comparing the dualchord track recording (which works OK) versus the Track 7/8 recording (which has an offset).
I am running V3.0, playback speed is normal.

Dualchord Local Trigger could not be triggered manually

Good day, when I set the trigger from Dualchord1 to Local Trigger, I cannot trigger it manually with OK when creating a new pattern to prelisten the line.

Steps to reproduce:
Track Assign:
Track2 NSA3: Dualchord

Dualchord Track Setup:
Note 1 Destination Out 1 Wave 1
Note 2 Destination Out 1 Wave 2
Note 3 Destination Out 1 Wave 3
Note 4 Destination Out 1 Wave 4
TRIG1 Destination Track Trigger
Note 5 Destination Out 2 Wave 5
Note 6 Destination Out 2 Wave 6
Note 7 Destination Out 2 Wave 7
Note 8 Destination Out 2 Wave 8
TRIG 2 Destination DC-TR Output 2

New pattern:
Dualchord1-1 Dualchord2-1
line 4 C-4 TRG30 C3 TRG30
line 8 B-3 TRG30 A-3 TRG30

Now when I press C-4 OK, DC-TR Output2 is triggered. I assume this is how it should be, as you want to trigger the entire line when you press it, but the local trigger is not triggered this way. So much for the first finding.

The second thing I noticed:
When I press B-3 with OK, only DC-TR Output2 is triggered again, but still with the previous note C-3. But when I press OK on line 8 C-4, I expect the entire line and its notes in this line to be updated, i.e. Dualchord2-1 A-3. However, in order for the note of Dualchord2-1 to be updated, you have to press OK on Dualchord2-1 note A-3. I find this a bit confusing, especially when creating different melodies on the two sides.

Thank you for your efforts

Hi
I've mapped out envelope sustain and volume on my Assimil8or using the MIDI IN to send CC via the mapping screen.
I've found a sporadically replicable issue, where hitting min or max value on specific CC channels, will set a CC value to another CC channel. Practically, this means that maxing out a fader, will open up the volume of a different channel, causing ruckus in a otherwise quiet part of the set.

There's a pattern to the issue, in which a specific channel will affect another specific channel. It adds a specific value to different channels (ie. CC33 will be set to a value between 0830 and 0930).
So far, affected channels are CC24 CC32 CC33 and CC36. I'm still trying to figure out which are affecting which. So far CC29 has a ~30% chance of affecting CC24 if maxed out, judging by observation. CC24 is mapped to the CV16 EV4R, which will open the envelope in crucial performance situations

I have tested my controller (Faderfox MX12) using MIDI-OX, which shows no sign of cross-affecting values. I initially met the problem in 2.02A, but it still persists in 3.00.

Also: I found it hard to place this between "less important glitches/bugs" and "really bad bugs", since there's not crash. But since this is a crucial part of my live setup, it's more than a QoL issue, as it makes the NerdSeq problematic to use in a professional setting. Would you consider this less important? Just checking, because I want to put it in the right subforum, and it's good to know for future reference.

I will make a dump from the MIDI OUT when I get to work in 40 mins. I attached the project and mappings.
Let me know if you need anything else.

Cheers, and congratulations on the new update!

PS: I suspected some NRPN tomfoolery, but I don't have the knowledge to single anything out.

Hiya
There is a similar issue here (track clock setting bug), but I don't think they're completely the same.

When I use CC to modulate the pattern order on a non-playing track, it affects the pattern order on the other tracks.
It also makes the little line for the playhead on each track in the top of the SEQ screen, escape it's little numbered box and continue onwards in the area below.

When "auto gate on note" is on, it looks like trig probability is ignored. I was wondering if this was by design. I could workaround this by setting the auto gate off of course, but it feels like trig probabilities are useless when using auto gates?

To reproduce:
Set "auto gate on note" on
Input some notes in a pattern
Set trig probability to 0
Note how trigs are still fired for every note

Hey! Not sure if it's a bug or if I am not understanding the function correctly.

I'd like to control the euclidean sequencer with CV in 1 and 2, using a voltage from 0-5v that I have on an attenuator.

So, I have set it up this way in the mapping screen:

CV | IN 1 | ____ - TRCK | TRK1 | ECLD
CV | IN 2 | ____ - TRCK | TRK1 | ECLP

The ECLD mapping is functioning as expected and let's me set the number of steps.

The ECLP mapping is partly functioning, but for the most part the steps are jumping around and seems glitchy.

Also, if I just have the ECLD mapping active, it is not possible to set the start/base position on the pattern screen with SHIFT/OK/ARROW, but this might be as expected?

Hope it makes sense
