Hey guys,

I don't know if this is achievable, but I feel like it should be.

Connecting a Linnsturument through the Multi-IO and using the TRS-A Out to a Disting NT would be such a dream compact setup, but I can't get the pitchbends to not bend every note even though they're being transmitted on different channels (?).

I'm not an expert on this, so not sure if my terminology is off a bit.

In the midi setup on the Nerdseq, I have Host Channel 2-9 (Linnstrument 2-9 are the Per Note Channels) all set up to send to the same track.

I can play the Disting polyphonically, but bending any note also bends every other note. I'm not certain if this is because the Nerdseq track itself kinda "smooshes" the forwarded channels together in order to forward the 8 incoming channels to the 4 outgoing.

Anybody have any ideas on how I could set this up?

I can do an actual midi cable straight from the Linn to the Disting, but then I lose all that Nerdseq goodness.

I know that is correcrt because ableton does recieve midi messages properly and I've used this for a while in this configuration.
I'd like to control the microcosm pedal cc values with the nerdseq mapping.

Assigning Pad Note on BitBox Micro

So I have the Bitbox Micro connected to my NerdSeq via MIDI, MIDI Pads on the Bitbox listens to Channel 10, see picture 1 and 2. When a pad’s MIDI In is set to None, Root note to None and Pad Note to Default, the NerdSeq troggers the Pad as expected starting from Note C-3.

However, when I try to assign a specific note to a Pad, it doesn’t trigger the pad. When I change that specific pad to listen to MIDI In channel 10, all notes that are played trigger that pad, I’ve also tried setting the Root Note to be the same as the Pad Note but that doesn’t help either. What am I missing here?

I want to assign a specific note to a specific pad as my plan is to get a second BitBox micro, in order to have more samples available from the same MIDI track.

More specifically, here is my setup:

NerdSeq1 + 2hp MIDI connected to NerdSeq2 + 2hp MID

NerdSeq1 connected to the Bitbox Micro1 MIDI In.

This already consumes both MIDI outs on the NerdSeq 1, so the plan is to use the MIDI through on NerdSeq2’s 2HP MIDI expander and connect it to the Bitbox Micro2, but I want to make sure that assigning MIDI notes to pads does work and that this setup using the MIDI through on the second NerdSeq to the second Bitbox Micro will work before pulling the trigger.

What am I missing not being able to assign specific note values to specific pads? Also, would appreciate some pointers about the setup with MIDI through, will it work?

However, when I insert row probability on the lfo row the break command does not consistently work and the lfo stays on then cuts off. I have tried putting the lfo on 01 instead of 00 so the break doesn’t send to the same row but the same thing happens. When I reset with no probability it works as it should.

I’m certain I’m missing some fundamental point here …
Is there a way to configure one of the TRS ports on the Multi-IO to act as MIDI thru? My use case is that I'd like to use the NerdSeq as a MIDI class compliant interface to send SYSEX configuration files from my computer to other modules. I'd connect my my computer to the NerdSeq via USB, use Sysex Librarian to send the file, and have the NerdSeq just pass it along over a MIDI Thru port to my device.

This is to save me having to buy a dedicated MIDI interface for the computer that I'll probably use once every year.

I spent some time last night attempting to have shaders be modified by notes on a midi track. I tried setting this up in the video track settings, but finding it difficult to use MIDI as source.

Also tried in Mappings, but seemed to have no effect. MIDI TRK Note > Shader Mod1 I think.

I’d like to be able to have all 4 lanes in a MIDI track modify shaders. Is this possible?

I want to record cv using live input (e.g.1) to the selected CV16 channel.
Is it possible to record CV for every step without inputting a gate at the time where it should be recorded?
For me, every step 1 value recorded would be OK in. In case there is no cv change, no value is needed.

My idea is to use CV out of CV16 to automate VCAs and other parameters by live recording this using a slider with cv out into the live input CV 1. Is this possible without gates to another input (e.g. CV input 2)?
Or is the idea to set up a trigger (e.g. clock) to fire recording, as if the CV values were for single “notes”?
(E.g. feeding the clock into CV2 to get the triggers on every step while recording?)

Recording the step edit using a gate I got to work, but not the continuous live recording on CV16, i have to move with the cursor to select the value and put a gate on to record this step.

Is there maybe a workaround with mapping? Or am I doing something wrong?

I know I can use slew to get smoothing of the value changes, which is nice!
