OK, so reset works and the clock input seem also to work.
Still, when you getting clocked externally (without the reset connected!!) it is and stays one step behind?
The first thing that happens when a normal clock (raising edge of the clock) arrives, it starts to play step 00.

Yeah, it's really really weird. The Nerdseq always starts after 1 clock pulse; it begins the first step of the sequence on the second clock pulse.
When I press play on my DAW (Ableton), I have a 16th note Silent way clock being sent to an ES-4+ES8GX. The clock comes out of the gate expander, along with a reset from another output, also driven by Silent way and triggered by the DAW start signal. I have verified both the clock and reset signals with my o-scope and they are reading as 5v triggers.
I want to emphasize that I have multiple sequencers that are all resetting and syncing correctly under this setup.
Now the only thing that might be weird is that the first clock and the reset signal I guess technically are occurring at the same time. I can set my clock to do a "skip first beat" so that the reset will hit 1/16th before the clock signal begins. I will try that. I feel like I did this before and it didn't work, but maybe I'm wrong. I'll get back with results.

So I recorded last night with the NerdSeq and it worked just fine. I am so baffled. But whatever the issue was, it seems to be gone. Is it possible there was a bug in the first version of firmware that shipped? I'm upgraded now, but just curious if that was the issue.

I guess not. I think i didn't change the clock stuff really since the first official release...due there is still some things on my 2do list for the clocking.
Nice to hear that it works well now!
