Buttons not working - sleestack - 09-26-2026 Hi everyone, I’m having a control/navigation problem with my NerdSEQ. I recently installed a trigger expander and a MIDI expander, but have since removed both. The problem remains. Symptoms: The cursor sometimes moves downward continuously without me pressing anything. This comes and goes. Cursor Up doesn’t respond, including when the automatic downward movement has stopped. Left and Right work in the tracker. SHIFT+PROJECT doesn’t open Setup. I can access Project, which I initially mistook for Setup. SHIFT+STOP doesn’t stop the running sequencer. Holding SHIFT+COPY+CURSOR UP at power-on hasn’t brought up the firmware updater. The documented key-release combination, SEQUENCER+AUTOMATOR+STOP, hasn’t restored normal operation. I noticed occasional catching of the Down button cap against the panel, but the problems also occur when the buttons are physically released and moving normally. The sticking doesn’t appear to explain the whole issue. I was advised that enabled Gamepad or Video functions could cause ghost inputs when the corresponding hardware isn’t connected. I haven’t been able to verify or disable those settings because I cannot enter Setup. The SD card has been reformatted and rebuilt using the official SD-card contents, with the official 3.0 firmware file placed in the firmware folder. This didn’t resolve the symptoms. The firmware has not actually been flashed, because I cannot enter the updater. Is there a documented way to disable Gamepad/Video or recover the internal settings without access to Setup? Is there a button-input diagnostic or another check that would distinguish ghost inputs from a hardware fault? I’m in the United States and would appreciate any supported troubleshooting steps before arranging a repair or overseas shipping. Thank you.
