MIDI USB synced without stop and/or start
#1
I'm currently playing with Nerdseq in a jazz trio, syncing my tempo from their Boss RC-600 loop pedals.

I'm syncing via USB host through Project > Clock IN > MIDI USB-Host.

Whenever they stop anything, such as a loop, my Nerdseq stops, even though other loops continue running.

Whenever they start anything, my clock starts again.

I would like to be able to control at least stop myself, and preferably also start, while still being synced to an external MIDI clock.

I couldn't really find a workaround in the manual. Did I miss something?

You should first check out what the Boss loop pedal sends. If it sends a stop then a sequencer does stop. Find out why other loops are continue running.

If you are not using SPP or MTC then there is no real sync possibility except for a manual 'approximation' which means press start at the beat and hope you pressed it at the exact good point. A start is the only real sync moment in a Midi clock situation.
SPP is supported by the NerdSEQ, MTC obviously not.

You can try to use a midi filter in between (via a computer or for example the cheap retrokits cable) and see if filtering out the stop signal would help you at all.

The real problem for me, is that Nerdseq stops, whenever the guitar player stops one of his loops.

RC-600 does not have an option for not sending start/stop.

It's fine that he starts my signal.

But what is the RC-600 sending exactly? Only Midi start/stop+clock?
