How to record midi notes in i2c track?

Hi, I have TRS 1 channel 1 going into step input which works for the modular and midi tracks, but the i2c track does not recognize any input.

How can I press a note on my midi keyboard and have that note immediately placed at my cursor in the i2c track?

I tried MIDI TC 1 NOTE > TRCK TRK1 CRNT to place a note at my cursor, but it doesn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong?

Now I am trying

1 MIDI TC 5 NOTE
2 CALC NT2P 00=0 > I2C ACVS #1
3 MIDI TC 5 GATE > I2C A TR #7

and it still does not work. There is nothing recognized on my ER-301 set to port 1 in the chain and the LED on the multi-io expander i2c does not indicate any signal is coming through on channel A or B.

I also read that in some other posts and in the manual that you should just be able to press a midi note with it routed to that channel's record input and it should automatically recognize it in the i2c channel. I'm not sure why it isn't...

Any suggestions?

I managed to play the ER-301 with midi with the previous mapping and have the i2c track communicate with the er-301 with programmed notes.

However, I still have not figured out how to input the midi notes into the i2c track and avoid the mapping. Suggestions?

Live input (Midi Channel -> I2C track) is implemented. Step input is probably not. I got to check this and if not then it'll be there in the next version.

For that to work you would need to set your I2C Port A being a leader on address 0x31. Not sure if that is the case.
Also, as far as I remember ( I noted this in the manual ), the ER301 is using an offset for the port. So a real #0 is a #1 on the ER301.

You refer to Midi Learn which is only a input thing but never can be a output thing as you never know what it connected. So the receiver (like the er301) must have a learn function then. For the NerdSEQ, it has learn functions for Midi and I2C, but it is only for the inputs.
