Yeah thanks.  Finally got it working.  I found working with “notes” in modulation way easier to understand.  It wasn’t one to one, but in a 16 slice wave, I had to use 4 semitones between each step.  I suppose that’s the voltage differential for each slice in the bitbox.  Once I sorted this, it’s great.  A little less straightforward than the MIDI approach, but with the “issue” of MIDI Channels per track, I think the CV approach is better.  I can use the same modulation out from NERDSEQ and input into Bitbox for each break (so just one cable), which is great, and then set the trigger out in the FX, to change breaks (though I couldn’t figure how to preview with FX trigger only).  I probably need the Trigger expander, and this way I could map all Bitbox pads to the NERDSEQ Triggers, I think?  Thanks.  Fun stuff!

Issue? I think it is very common to have tracks dedicated to synthesizers normally.

Of course, that’s why I put it in quotes Smile , implying that it’s only a thing (for me and perhaps, Kubase) in this particular use case scenario (i.e. efficiency with selecting slices on multiple wave forms via MIDI with Bitbox which seems to require a MIDI channel per sliced waveform, as best as I can grok it, which may be limited Smile).

Glad to sense there may be some additional flexibility in upcoming firmware, for more unusual scenarios such as this!

The more I think about it, such flexibility might also come in handy for MIDI sequencing my two monophonic Moog synths via the same track.  I think I would be able to create interweaving sounds more easily seeing it on one screen, while also freeing up track/cv/trig for something else (i.e. if I control two Mother 32’s - two oscillators - with one track).  I could even create chords if bring in another voice...

As an aside, I’m not sure if there’s any pitch tracking advantages in using the Mother 32’s built in MIDI to CV (i.e. plugging in a MIDI cable), versus using CV/gate inputs (couldn’t find anything online).  I feel it would get around the -5 to 5 V range without having to change that for everything with the NERDSEQ offset switch (or using a precision adder)...

Want to share the exciting news that a MIDI overrule per channel is on route with the next firmware. I’ve tested an early firmware and it is fantastic. Each of the four columns in a MIDI track can go to a different MIDI out. This allows me way more precise control over slice selection on the Bitbox.

Previously not only was it a pain in the ass for me to figure out what CV value (or note signifier) corresponded to what slice (as, to be expected, it wasn’t a slice per semitone), it would sometimes play the wrong slice and I wasn’t able to be as precise as I want for dialing in certain fills and so on (it was passable though and some of the randomness could be interesting). Not sure if I’m missing something, or if it’s the way in which the Bitbox responds to CV for slice selection, or what. But, it’s a mute point for me now, I think!

Amazing!

That's great news, and super fast also!

Yes. That's great. Having the choice of setting the MIDI channel per column in MIDI track open a lot of options for sequencing external gear also.
