More CV Up Arrow Next To Column Label

On Track 1 I have More CV outputs 1,2,3 and 4 assigned to lanes 3,4,5 and 6.
There is a little up arrow next to the 2 at the top of lane 4 and next to the 4 at the top of lane 6.
Note cv doesn't output as expected from More CV output 2 as entered in lane 4.
What does the up arrow indicate? 
Is there a setting to change to get the note cv to output directly?

That means you got an envelope running on that lane. You can either stop the envelope with another command in that lane or press shift+stop twice, which will stop all envelopes/lfos/sounds.
