CV16 Trigger Destination

I'm not sure if this is a question or confirmation but I am unable to generate a trigger from a CV16 output. I can set one for a local trigger (TT8 for example) but I thought I could generate a trigger from a CV16 output (TD8 on CV16 output 2 for example) but the latter does not work. Can I generate a trigger out of the CV16 itself? If so I can not figure out what I am doing wrong.

Is there a way to get at the CV16 triggers from the mapping matrix?  My use case would be to fire CV16 TT8 triggers on CV16 outputs from a drum matrix track via mapping matrix commands.  I already do this for midi drums for example (and it works perfectly of course!)

I have a trigger16 expander but it’s already fully used for other things, and my CV 16 expander has unused outputs:  I’d like to use those as triggers rather than buy another trigger expander if possible.

I’ve worked around this before by setting the CV envelopes to look like triggers and firing them as one shots, but they don’t save their settings unless I have the CV16 on a dedicated track (which I don’t need - it’s purely utility in my current patches)

Similar question:  is it possible to get at other CV16 functions from the matrix too?  Simple things like setting a voltage on an output of my choice.

It’s no problem if not - everything works so well on the Nerd as-is for me, these are just “nice to haves”.  Also, apologies if this has been answered already.  I did a search but didn't see this topic in the results.
