Power from midi out expander

I need to run a midi thru box from the nerdseq - theres a box which draws power from the midi out port. would this be ok to use with the midi expander of the nerdseq?

As usual with those boxes, they are out of specs and not isolated. So it might work well, it might not work, it might work bad, also depending on the connected midi devices.
