Gate on input to trig pattern instantly
#1
Hi

My purpose is to trig a pattern on a gate on input 1 instantly.
My problem is that when i set up input 1 LIVE to POSITION START and send a gate, the pattern restart but only on first step of the mainclock.
(for information, strangely, if i set up input 2 LIVE to POSITION STOP, pattern stops instantly sending a gate).

- I tried to set up MainClock to 1 step which make instant pattern start but in such a case my pattern play only first step.
- I tried to set up Live QueuePoints to 1 but this asynchronicity between my gate and on pattern launch is still present.
- Pattern Launch Type to normal or sync does not seem to allow instant start neither.

On other threads, i find some tips about stopping and starting the whole sequencer (shift + stop/start) but i don't see any parameter on input live to do that (and manual trig is not what i am looking for).

Am i missing some set up ?

You would need to have the gate twice or 2 triggers to start directly at the queuepoints.
There is else no command to start a pattern directly. It acts in the same way as the regular start button.

Thanks for your response.
I can use a burst module to send two trigs with only one coming from my initial trig but it sounds like a pricey hack.
Do you think that it would be complicated to add a function such as POSITION START SINGLE to launch pattern using only one trig ? I was considering to create a feature request.

I don't think it is complicated. So add a feature request. But no promises if it will be added shortly.
