And wait, one line should be enough for the mappings.
Instead of only note on there is also Note on/off which does both in one line. And you decide as the source which note it should be. One XMAP to one row should be enough then I think.

Yes!  Thankyou!  This works:

CTRL XMAP  2RW > ---- ---- ----
VAR  #  A #000 > ---- ---- ----
VAR  #  A  SRC > MIDI TC10 NOTE

Sends and Note on/Note off for C-0 on TRS MIDI channel 10, and works perfectly. For both the Flame Fire and BitBox MK2!

One other important thing:  The mapping refreshes really fast, so you need to use a different variable for each different MIDI note you want to trigger.  Eg. if you have 8 voices like on the Flame Fire, you need to use VAR #A to #H.  Or at least so far I've needed to for this solution.
