For the FX, IIRC the Break command is near the end of the FX list. To at least be able to type B then R which gives a list of all FX names starting with BR would still be a very useful time saver.

I appreciate the fact that many values are not numbers, but take the Trigger/Gate column or many of the FX values. Back in my tracker days, we often needed to input many cxx volume or axx commands, sometimes for almost every note. This may sound strange, but this was often done rhythmically (because we knew the pattern of notes). We did all of the c's first, for each step one after the other, then the first value, then the second. This meant you could 'program' the volumes of each of the 64 steps, within a pattern, in way less than a minute - all different values.

I know where you came from and I did, too. So I know exactly what you are talking about. But they are significant differences to oldschool trackers. One of the most important is that the NerdSEQ was never designed around a PC keyboard. The Video Expander has been released a few years later and the keyboard functions have been optimized to match the NerdSEQ functionality and workflows.
I would say even with the NerdSEQ buttons only I am just as fast as with an oldschool tracker in most cases. The lack of the 'edit keys' is compensated with other functionality to allow fast editing. The FX part is the easy part though, the NerdSEQ itself goes much deeper than the usual oldschool tracker.

By the way, I rarely use BREAK these days (and that is the most easy one to insert since you always only press SHIFT+CURSOR DOWN and get it). Pattern Length brings you more functionality as also many functions make ue of it. BREAK still does make sense though for more probabilistic lengths or repeats (which is something beyond classic module trackers)
The issue which is the different keyboard layouts still stays, I can't test it, they are quite some details and I try to save the NerdSEQ memory for more fundamental functionality.
