How to insert blank rows while running - Sequencer Screen

I'd love to be able to do this on the fly, i.e. while the Sequencer is running. You can do it in the Pattern Screen with <Shift+Down+Delete>, but that doesn't work in the Sequencer Screen. Anybody know how? Should this be a feature request?
