Actually, the I2C expander works, but the issue is here, how should the screens look like? In the end i am still limited per track with a dedicated amount of columns / possibilities. One Idea was to have the 6 columns like the CV16 for Notes/Pitch, a drummatrix, 2FX, patch, groove. That then per assigned track which gives quite some internal patchpoints to I2C.
Sounds awsome to me. I d'say: go for it! Many people would find this just fine, including myself.
