Sample tracks: pre-view and abort+menu consistency

To start with the last, I can't simply move a new 'value' I between those. Also I think it is not an option to make it nearly impossible for people who never used it to load samples. Using OK on empty samples might be an option, but what if all sample slots are filled. Then it is not easy possible again to remove/replace samples. I think OK on notes is the best option since this is used also for all other track types. On these there is also no pre-listen if not on the note.

How about pre-listen on all columns, load new sample on empty spot in list and beyond that you load via the load sample menu?
This might be personal, but after having set up the samples I just want to play the thing like crazy, I suppose others perhaps switch samples more often.

In the automator screen the LFO vs the envelope settings? Or the automator screen vs. the envelope screen?


Sorry, I meant both of them in the automator screen. Pressing OK on an LFO or an envelope does different things.


Aah the big sliders...which are very slowing down the overall performance ;-)

Actually that is kind of a tricky thing as they are 2 screens you refer to. The track setup screens and the current values screens. The issue is here that it is difficult to define which has to be on which without missing one plus not have like half of the values in both screens. For the sample screens these are kind of settings for that particular sample/audio/combination and without you couldn't re-create the sounds.

Also I tried to avoid any scrolling on the current values screens but adding all the values here as well might add the need for it (and so you don't have an overview to the most important current values)

Yeah I realized that, which is why it was only a mention. I think you have put considerably more thought into them than I did when I noticed the same values weren't always in the same place.

I have to bring this first point about pre-listening to samples again, it’s a bother to move to the sample column, switch samples, move back to note and press OK only to find out it’s not what I wanted. 


Could a possible solution be OK for pre-listen and SHIFT+OK to change samples?
