I fully acknowledge that this is on me, but it's kinda crazy how hard it is to find out which Sega controller to get for the expander.
I don't know anything about Sega products, having never owned one, so when I got the NerdSeq+Midi expander, I was like "Oh cool, I'll get the controller, just to see if I like it" and I order a Sega Saturn controlller.
I did this because everywhere on the product page, it just says Sega controller.
Information about the expander port appears a handful of times in the (full) NerdSeq manual, but only once does it specify that it's actually a Genesis port. It seems like that's an important distinction. I learned that they were different when my controller arrived and I unpacked it. It kinda seems like your mom calling your consoles a Nintendo well past the PS2/Xbox 360 era.
So, although I know NOW, I would suggest just putting Sega Genesis on the expander page for people like me who have no idea.
