Mute/Unmute tracks via fx command

Currently we can start/stop tracks via FX

Yes, I am aware of that, yet those commands pertain to the given tracks. I can't stop/start Track 1 using the fx from the Track 2, can I? Also that's not what I am after. I need mutes, not start/stops.

STSP TRR with T denoting the track (0 == all) and RR denoting the sequencer row you can start any given pattern from any track. See the manual page 34.

Why not create copies of the patterns that shall sound and add empty patterns on the tracks that shall be silent?

With different pattern lengths on different tracks it starts getting out of hand really quick. 
My use case is: I'm creating a couple of nice rolling patterns of different lengths on modular Tracks 1 - 4. On tracks 5 & 6 (more triggers 16) I'm having drum patterns and clocks. On tracks 7 - 8 (more cv 16) I have voltages controlling the parameters / behaviours of modules controlled by tracks 1 - 6. Thus, even when I have just one pattern per track 1 - 6, I can alter the sound dramatically by cvs from tracks 7 - 8. Moreover, one of those more cv tracks has such a step length and clock divide so its one step matches up to 64 steps of the other (default clocked) patterns. Thus I can call this pattern a "master" pattern from where I control all the meta layer, like dry/wet params, audio beat repeats, effexts' modes and so on. All that is cool and dandy, just mute/unmute tracks fx seems to be missing from that picture, and that's the origin of my feature request idea.

Hmm.

In my experience having pattern with arbitrary lengths in parallel is asking for trouble. I therefor always try to have them the same length in each row, even if that means I've got to split up musical phrases and distribute them across 2 or 3 consecutive pattern. It also helps me keeping track of things [as otherwise I quickly loose where I am on which track].

Adding color to blocks helps as well with keeping things visually organized.

But that's my way of dealing with this.
