So, in the final analysis I think that XORadmin's option N°1 is actually the most precise, however, it's a little fiddly. If you could cut and paste your notes over from the main screen (on whatever track you're using) and put them in the FX column of the table, that would help - make it more user friendly.
However, I guess all that might be difficult to implement, but it does bring up again the point that there must be another solution for programming triplets, or others multiples. Going backwards and forwards between screens is a little dizzy making, especially when you need to constantly check the melody, or tweak something.
Thanks again.
Just to add some variety (there's more than one way to do it
):I often use the following pattern:
Let's say I have a song with 120 BPM I then set BPM to 60 and in every pattern I add in the first row CBPB 10A (double clock immediately). When I want triplets I use CBPB 10B (triple clock immediately) for those notes. The same works for 5-tuplets and 7-tuplets and it works with CV16 and MIDI tracks. Drawback is I have to be aware that the length of my patterns change and special care has to be taken into account to keep everything aligned.
Possibly not the perfect solution for every situation but clearly helpful sometimes.
I use a similar approach if I want special ornamentation (trills and such) where I don't have tables (aka CV16 and MIDI tracks).
Kind regards,
Michael
