I thought I'd look for a Sega controller (my Nerdseq+IO come next week) and found this on Amazon UK. It's a new Sega licensed controller - not out until end of April but looks nice! Pre-ordered one

8bitdo's pretty well-known for quality reproductions of classic controllers, and they have a Sega controller coming out quite soon: http://www.8bitdo.com/m30/

It's wireless, however, and also requires USB power for the receiver, so it may not be ideal.  Though if we get a video-out add-on for the Nerdseq, wireless could prove useful, I suppose.

We should probably clarify the 8Bitdo bluetooth receiver is powered by the console when connected to. It does not require a separate cable for power. I also just tested my 8Bitdo M30 with the Nerdseq and it worked flawlessly. My M30 was from an early pre-order (last year) that included the bluetooth receiver however. This package appears discontinued and you have to purchase these items separately now but the items should still work with Nerdseq.

I don't think it makes much sense however to use a wireless controller with Nerdseq unless there's a dedicated video output to visualize on a bigger screen though.

I just received mine (not the bluetooth version, however) and noticed that lack of need to power the receiver, to my pleasant surprise. Good to know it works with the Nerdseq, as I'm unable to test mine at the moment.

We should also note that while one model of the M30 includes bluetooth, and a bluetooth receiver is available for bluetooth controllers of many stripes to work with the Genesis (likely enough with the Nerdseq, as well), the cheaper M30 includes a 2.4G wireless receiver for the Genesis.

very curious to know - do you gamepad users find it preferable to use the controller VS the buttons on the nerdseq?

i LOVE the buttons on the nerdseq, they are so satisfying!

I tried a game pad early on and prefer the buttons on the nerd much more. Maybe when all six game pad buttons are mappable/customizable I'll come back around, but I agree, the buttons on the actual unit are so satisfying.

+1 on the Nerseq buttons. Concur with Gimber regarding the controller!

I also find that the NerdSEQ buttons work much better for me. Maybe also because i think having left thumb control is not made for me. Who invented this anyway???
