Optimize patterns
#1
Hi
I m actually working on a Live session and unfortunately...arrived at the end of the 176 patterns of 64 steps.
I"m pretty sure if I carrefully check all the patterns i wrote I will find a lot of same(duplicate) pattern structures
Is it possible to create some kind of patterns scanner in order to optimize the number of empty patterns?
thanks in advance
best regards

Setup -> Compact sequencer. Cleans up and releases unused patterns. It doesn’t check for exactly equal patterns.
PLEASE use the search function if something have been asked or discussed before.
Every (unnessesary) forum support means less time to develop! But of course, i am here to help!  Smile

You could translate your project into human readable form (aka Text) by means of the various tools mentioned in the Thread about Offline Pattern editing:
https://forum.xor.eu/showthread.php?tid=240
and then use your favourite text editor to check on patterns with identical content.

On page 5 of this Thread you'll find the Perl Script I use for such tasks but possibly the JavaScript stuff is workable too.

Note that this is not yet working with/for V1.28, specifically the Perl Script reads and writes V1.27 project files.

Kind regards,
Michael
