Repeat part of a pattern a set number of times?
#1
Hi Forum,

I'm trying to repeat a number of steps in a pattern for a limited number of times. E.g. assume my pattern is 32 steps long and I wish to repeat steps 9-16 twice, i.e. I wish to play steps like this (steps now in hex):
0-7, 8-f, 8-f, 10-...

I tried this by setting step f FX1 to BRK 001 and FX2 to BRK 108

However that results in steps 8-f looping indefinitely.

Is there a way to have the JUMP (BRK 108) only executed a set number of times?
And how?

Kind regards,
Michael

There is no setting like this currently.

Why not just copy the steps you want to repeat as new patterns? You can have as many patterns as you want and you can arrange them in so many different ways in the main arrange window. You can even choose which patterns to switch to live if you want to do that. It'd be easier than using jump and repeat step functions imo.

Hi verifiedpersonae,

thank you very much for your answer.

Copying/repeating steps explicitly is certainly a way to achieve repetitions. However there are situations when loops are the better choice.

Kind regards,
Michael
