Sample Problems

Hey Nerds,

i no there are some threads about that topic. But they didnt help ...
It cost so much time to load succesful samples to the Nerd Seq. I want to load up to 50 Samples. I also have this Noise issues when i play the samples. It doesent matter if Raw or Wave or 16 bit or 8.

At first i tried "Convert to Wav" - it cost 15 € and can convert the samples in some seconds. unfortunatley it doesnt function. Thomas said its maybe because of too much information in the sample data. Then i tried Audacity ... But it takes soooo long to convert 50 samples
Sometimes it is succesful but often there are these noises even when i took RAW unsigned. Also its very often: "Sample too big" on the screen, even if i put the factory Presets back on the SD Card ...

Does somebody know how to convert samples the fastest way? And why there is written "Sample Too Big" if its a really small data?

The sample memory is only 4 seconds. So your loaded samples plus the new one are probably bigger than that.

Can you add some example samples that are not working well?

And what is the main sample type you need to convert?

Thanx for your answer. i try to convert from Wave 24 bit.

The last Samples i did today went very well. I converted them with audacity. Windows signed 16 bit.
i can also convert more than one at a time with audacity (didnt saw that before).

if i get again problems which i cant solved with a sample, i will post it here. Thanx for your help and costumer service!

I didn't want to start a new thread, but I'm trying to prep some samples for the nerdseq.

Specifically I am loading the SP1200 drum pack from samples from mars.

These started out as 24-bit floating point samples, and I have used sox to convert them to 16-bit PCM. When I use sox --i command, it shows that they are 16-bit signed integer encoded at 44.1kHz rate. The test file (a kick drum) I am using from the set is only 23.8KB, but it won't load. I always get the 'Load Sample Error', even on a completely blank project. Is there some other preperatory step that I need to do to make them suitable for nerdseq?

Hi,  I have attached a test case.  I converted using sox.  The sox --i output says:

Duration       : 00:00:00.27 = 11865 samples = 20.1786 CDDA sectors
File Size      : 23.8k
Bit Rate       : 707k
Sample Encoding: 16-bit Signed Integer PCM

I am trying to load this on 24.1 because of a particular project, but I could convert to 25rc3 if necessary.

EDIT EDIT:  I just tried loading on firmware 25rc3, same result 'load sample error'.

I think you can upload a .zip file.
