Hello! I recently bought a Nerdseq. The possibilities seem really awesome. However I fail in even the first and simplest thing I want to do – record CV and gate live. It feels I have tried every possible setup with shifting, but all unsuccessful, results. For instance clocking it externally and internally respectively.
I have plugged my Q-nexus keyboard into input 1 and 2 on the nerdseq and patched cv 1 and trig 1 into an osc and envelope > vca in the most straightforward way and the signal comes though, playing notes correctly when the Nerdseq is idle. When starting record it gets weird. If I try to record on track 1 a C-0 note is entered onto every step. Trying the same on track 2 nothing happens at all when I press notes on the keyboard. Nothing is entered into either notes or trigs column. A C-0 note is entered onto the first step of the pattern when shift+record is pressed even if nothing is plugged into input 1 or 2. Is that normal? Seems odd to me.
I have also tried a korg nanokey2 via my DAW and an Expert Sleepers FH-2 with identical results as above with the difference that triggers seem to get recorded.
Being a complete noob to the Nerdseq I'm sure I have missed or misunderstood something crucial, or is what I try to do not even possible? Or could there be something actually wrong? I think I remember that I did manage to live-record notes and triggers (via input 1+2) when I first tried the unit (if a bit wonkily), but after doing a firmware update (1.25) these issues started to occur. I have also tried reloading the firmware but the behaviour remains. What am I doing wrong?
