What is external Note FX on more16CV ?

on a More16cv track on the FX colonne you  can have NT A xxyy where NTA stand for extenal note 1 and you can have 8 notes so it's nta, ntab , ntc.... nth

What is external notes ?


another question : I have set midi to CV on a tracks and it works well, but when I change the type of the track from modular to moreCV16 it stop working no more midi note is convert to cv and gate for this track is that normal behaviour ? you can't have midi to cv on a moreCV16 track ?

What is external notes ?

NT A...NT H on a More CV 16 track does mean "Change Note". Not sure what you mean by "external note". See manual page 54.

You can record MIDI into a More CV 16 track.

See manual page 102ff and in particular page 106 under the heading "TRACK 1..8 Record".
I'm not quite sure what you are trying to achieve and from your description I'm not sure I fully understand what you are doing.

Maybe reread the manual and/or describe in more detail what you are doing?

External Notes means the outputs of the 'external' moreCV16 expander.

You can use Midi to play and record into a CV16 track. But in a CV16 track they are no CV/Gate columns but rather 6 CV columns. In there you can record the CV + envelopes (which can act like a gate). In the track setup of the CV16 expander you find the settings for that.

I Setup the 6 tracks of the Nerdseq to receive midi notes from my computer connected to the midi in TRSA connector (midi expander)
So the Nerdseq just convert these notes to CV Gate signal on is 6 CV gate outputs . But it is not for recording in the nedseq. I just want to play 6 different sound modules with my computer and used the Nerdseq as a midi to CV interface. so as far as the 6 tracks are modular tracks it works well.
But I have a MoreCV16 expander and I want to have some modulation patterns and LFOs on the MoreCV16 outputs. So I have change the type of one of the tracks from modular to more cv 16 and then this track stoped from converting the external midi notes of my computer to CV gate signal on is CV gate ouputs.
So how could I have external midi note conversion to CV gate ouputs on a moreCV16 track ? is it possible ?

And because I saw NT A withe the explanation bottom line "external CV A" I thought maybe this was external midi note from chanel 1

It makes sense anyways mostly for patches and there if you like to (in the latest release candidate) you can fire 2 patches on one step which can change all 16 outputs in one go.

here is what I do :

I first start a clean new project.

menu : project ----> new project ----> yes

Then I assign track 1 to More16CV.

menu : project ----> track assign ----> Track 1 = NSA 2 : more CV 16

Then I route the external incoming Midi data to track 1

menu : project ---> input / record set up ---->
midi data input = ON
midi chanel 1 = TRACK 1 INPUT

Then I try this

track1 menu : N3RD / Track setup / record voices = 1 + env 8

And yes the incoming Midi notes are converted into a CV signal on the output 1 of the More16CV

but now what about the midi Gate ? how to make it fire env8 ? and where will it appears ?

There is an envelope generated on the output that is set up for the 2nd column. In your case most probably CV2.
You change the settings of envelope 8 and it can work like a gate (fast attack,fast release, sustain to half when the offset switch is to the right)

Did you set up envelope 8 so it will provide the voltages you need?
Is the envelope symbol turned on on the 2nd column?
