It has been dealt with in other threads but things tend to get more and more difficult to find as time goes by...
Not sure how well you understand the envelopes of a CV16. Therefor I'm starting with some basics that I didn't understand initially. Ignore it if it is old stuff for you
According to the manual the CV16 has 8 (ASR) envelopes. However the 8 settings for Attack/Sustain/Release are not the envelopes as such (in the sense that a ASR Module would be an envelope) but rather they are a set of parameters that you can preset. You then can use the same set of parameters on different CV16 outputs concurrently and overlapping. [this is something that took me quite a while to understand]
Here's what I do when I use the envelopes of a CV16:
- for a voice I have a note lane and a corresponding gate/envelope lane
- for longer notes (1/8 and longer) I use ^n1 (Attack-Sustain) and ^n2 (Release) and n being 1...8 (the predefined envelope parameter set I wish to use)
- for shorter notes (1/16) I use ^n0 (Attack-Release) and n being 1...8 (the predefined envelope parameter set I wish to use)
- I use the different envelope parameter sets for different dynamics (faster/slower and/or louder/quieter)
