Two synths on same MIDI track

I’m trying to set up Nerdseq to record two duophonic synths on the same MIDI track on track 1. In track setup I have enabled MIDI columns 1&2 for channel 1. And override column 3&4 to use channel 2. Record columns is set to 1+2+3+4.

In Input/Record Setup I have MIDI Channel 1 & 2 set to ‘Track 1 Record’.

When notes are entered manually in each column, the correct synth & notes are played. However, when I record with my Midi controller set to Ch1, playing a triad plays the 3rd note on the Ch2 synth. I wouldn’t expect the 3rd note to register at all on the sequencer.

I’d like it to behave as follows after pressing record:
- MIDI controller ch1 only records to columns 1&2
- midi controller ch2 only records to columns 3&4

It is not possible from only 1 track.

But with the use of 2 tracks, you could at least record into 3 columns. Both tracks using the same pattern. One track uses CH1 to record (and record set to 1+2) and the other uses CH2 to record (record set to column 3).
If you record both now at the same time you get 1 pattern with 3 columns from 2 Midi channels.
