Skip output of CV when trigger 'is off'

When (TR)igger is off, either '00' or '--', the CV change is still outputted as CV and Trigger are 'decoupled'.
This means when a sound has longer release than the step is long, the CV is also send and the pitch has changed.

My feature request would be (per track) setting, that when the trigger step if 'off' (either '--' or '00') that the CV out is also not changed. Not to break current pattern behaviour.
This mimics the settings of sequencers (like The Doepfer Dark Time), that the step is still part of the sequence, but the setting 'turns off' the output of new CV and Trigger together.

I'm aware deleting both will do the trig, but I'm looking for a quick way to 'turn off' a step in the sequence.
On the other hand, I also realize 'pre-programming' is more the way of NerdSeq than performance live and make changes.

I'm not in agreement w/r to this feature request, i.e. when I change a voltage in the CV column I want that reflected on the output no matter what.

To solve the problem of the OP:
You could pass the CV through a VC switch (or a bernouli gate) and flip the switch with the trigger. Depending on what you want to do you may use a VCA as such a gate though for pitch CV that probably is a bit tricky.

What might be closest to what you want (when I understand your request correctly) would be using a S&H that samples the CV when there is a trigger.

Fair enough, I know I can do a S/H like thing, but what I'm also saying is, make it _configurable_ per track you want this behaviour. Don't break 'the default' behaviour.
If '--' and '00' is similar right now (right?), that might be used to differentiate: Setting: " '--' mutes step: [On/Off] " or something.

Will flipping the switch be fast enough? What if the CV is slightly ahead of the trigger?

edit: my practical use case is I have all Note CV's filled and I 'rotate' (euclidean) triggers to create new melodies. The CV's without Trigger are still 'alive' which is unwanted in my case...

Only send/change note CV when there is a trigger, is a pretty straightforward setting. Also when a key is not pressed on synths, there isn't a note/CV Sen either.

CV changes happening also with synthesizers (change the pitchbend in the release phase, possible glides etc, tied notes on a mono-synth which doesn't do a retrigger...).
The reason you don't realize that most of the time is that the Midi standard for example does not have a note change which doesn't always involve a gate.
It is one of the strong parts that CV and Gates can be easily controlled separately with modular.

What the darktime or any other sequencer does is not relevant (and I don't care anyways ). They can probably do only that one thing, while the NerdSEQ can do all situations, change the note without gates, change the gates without notes, change both.

A setting would be indeed an idea. But I can also imagine that I will get frequently reports of people claiming their CV output is not working when they accidentally enabled that (and trust me, I get quite some reports of these things and in the end it's a setting the user changed...). 
They are many people who don't use the trigger columns but let the autogate with note on+off do its job (which is also the starting point for a beginner).
Anyways, I will think about it...
