BPM Divider/Multiplier per channel/pattern
#1
Smile
I find myself thinking the pattern FX BPM is a local channel setting but.......it's a global setting the same as the Tempo setting in project setup - If I delete a FX BPM it resets the Global BPM  to 1 bpm and I expect it to revert previous bpm of 120.

Ok that's confusing but I can get used to it [Image: smile.png]

Instead of multiple instances of the global BMP in table, FX, and Project Setup. How about a divider/multiplier FX referencing the Global BPM on either a per pattern or per channel basis?

I know I can use the groove steps to achieve something similar but editing individual steps on the fly is not much fun.

There are similar requests for a feature of this type in other threads but none appear to address the global/local issue above

cheers

I have already plans for this and it will be per channel, per pattern and even more (top secret).
But then there will be also still a global master BPM and others are derived from it in different ways.

I actually don't understand what you mean that it reset's to 1 if deleting a FX BPM. Deleting a value in the FX column should never affect current values.

Good to hear updates are coming.

Regarding FX BPM value - if sequencer is running 120 BPM and in a pattern I select BPM FX the FIRST time the initial value is 000. FX BPM value is 000 and the Sequencer is still 120 BPM.

Now I input a value into FX BPM and the Sequencer changes to new BPM - but when I delete the FX BPM value to 000 main Sequencer changes to 1 BPM.

I was thought that the FX BPM would change back to default 120 BPM but it instead it uses 1 BPM. I guess I thought FX BPM was a scaling factor rather than a literal global value.

I can see the logic of the current behaviour but...... wish were the other way

Oh now i understand. You are not talking about the FX columns but about the patches. ( I just tested and the FX columns just work well)
The fact that a patch change also changes the values directly will be abandoned. It is just a relict from the times when the 'Current Values' screen was not there and then i used the patch screen to manipulate values directly.
Just avoid for now to change the BPM there and use the FX columns and you will be fine. I will remove the fact that values change when editing the patches in one of the next versions.

I would like to second this. I would love to have one pattern playing at the global BPM then another pattern in a different track play at a division or mult of the global clock. If there is a way to do this already let me know. Loving the Sequencer anyway.
