No MIDI pitch bend when inputs are set to record?

in firmware ver 1.21 A:

I noticed that pitch bend using a MIDI controller(in my case an Arturia Keystep) only works when MIDI Channels are set as track input only and not when set as track record. Is there a reason for this? 

I'm also a little confused why there are 2 different modes when sequence patterns are in play mode by default and when you want to record, you have to use the record mode. Wouldn't it be simpler to just have the Input mode and just enable recording tracks when the user set the track to record mode?

Oh yes, seems like this is missing. It works for Midi -> Midi though, but it needs to be added for record Midi -> CV/Gate track

Thanks for the reply and clarification that this is indeed a missing feature and not something I am doing incorrectly.
