External Clock - Run/Start
#1
Hi,

The manual states that if an external midi clock is used, a start stop signal is received.  This works, but I'd like to use an analogue clock.  I've tried reset and run signals into the NerdSeq reset input, and the clock light illuminates, but the sequencer doesn't start when I press 'play' elsewhere.

That is correct. There is not such thing as start/stop with a analogue clock (except for dinsync).
Only signals are clock and reset and both are not start/stop signals.

Ok thanks. I can work around this I think - my OctoController starts when it receives a clock but Nerdseq is my first euro sequencer and I thought it would be the same. What does the reset input do, out of interest?

I drive one NerdSEQ (and some other gear) from another NerdSEQ using DIN Sync style 24PPQN clock/run signals and it works extremely well. Might want to double-check your clock input type setting in your NerdSEQ, perhaps?

Hmm, pretty sure I tried all the settings. Will take a look though, thanks!

Dinsync with 24ppqn doesn't have a reset but a start/stop signal, so that will indeed start and stop.
But modular clock doesn't have this.
