Allright, yes with the extra stop you stop/decouple the envelopes indeed.
You could, to avoid these surprises, just use the Add function instead of pure but be sure to set the normal note/pich value to zero (if wanted), so there is no offset with the envelope. Then a stop will just leave it as it is.
